Gasthaus zum Pfaffenstein in Koenigstein

Were there for a quick stop in the summer to have a drink after a hike. After an eternally long wait, even though some was free, we got a table. After another much too long waiting time our order was taken and who would have thought it, after an even longer waiting time we got our drinks. Then there was an unfriendly service. The only positive thing I can say is the beautiful location and that the drinks were ok. There are two stars for this.

The schnitzel is particularly recommended. The pleasant hospitality and the very good food are very popular. We are very happy to be guests and are happy that we were there again last week before the lockdown. Thank you very much and we hope that we can be guests again very soon.

Staff friendly, but a little overwhelmed, a pity wanted to have a bite to eat, even after 4.30pm, as indicated no chance, so we decided on 1 coffee, cake was delicious.

A wonderful day of hiking. Despite the fog, a hike to the Barbarine in the morning and then the full view of the colorful surroundings. We had the Königstein and later the Lilienstein before us. The end of the day was the restaurant at the foot of the mountain. I wish everyone a nice colorful autumn hike ..... by the way ... if you are a larger group don't forget to call the restaurant beforehand and order ...

The food looked appealing. For over 16 € the quality of the veal roll roast was unfortunately more than unsatisfactory. The meat was tender but thick with a lot of fat, the sauce was out of the bag and the mushrooms were just fluffy pieces. I'm sorry, the food was just really gross ... The others were very satisfied with the tarte flambée, so just 2 stars.

Condition very harsh demeanor. Hotel guests had larger portions, and dishes that weren't on the stripped-down menu ... The taste was good. Maybe the waitress should put on a smile. Friendliness doesn't hurt.

We had the schnitzel, a large salad, shandy and wine. It was delicious and we didn't have to wait long. The staff is unfortunately only very tight / seems a little unfriendly. But otherwise everything was excellent! We recommend.

Nice, well-kept beer garden and delicious Saxon cuisine. The guest room and the toilets are clean and modern. A worthwhile goal after a hike.

We were very dissatisfied. The extremely unfriendly waitress just ignored us and left us out in the rain. When she was spoken to, she only hummed in an unfriendly manner and disappeared inside. What a shame ...

Unfortunately we weren't really satisfied with today's visit. The prices are high and the quality of the dishes is unsatisfactory. The farmer's breakfast was good in taste, but extremely small. The trout was oozing with fat and I thought it was coming out of the fryer. When I asked the waitress about it, this was denied after consultation with the kitchen, but it was definitely not tasty and not really well done. For 15 euros just not acceptable.

Prices completely inadequate in the economy. Portions are the size of children's plates. A hungry man will definitely not get full for almost € 14 for the schnitzel with fries. I personally found the service unsympathetic. My conclusion it is better to eat somewhere else.

Terrible. What a grumpy operation. Not hospitable. We will never get there again. It seems that only the einheimische are welcome, tourists are treated with rude. Not a star.

Extremely rude staff! We were only implemented 3 times and then another operator asked us unkindly why we just sit down like this. When we ordered only one coffee, the waitress rolled his eyes and came back shortly after to tell us that we couldn't stay long so that they could release the table again. Probably because my girlfriend looks Asian. Absolute cheek!

Staffs were so unfriendly and very rude. They got us the table inside and asked us to moved two times. We ordered two cups of coffee first. When our coffee arrived, the staff asked if we wanted to oder food. I asked nicely if that I can oder it later. She was kinda rolling her eyes, didn’t say anything and left. About 5 minutes later, came another staff to our table and told us to hurry drinking our coffee. Definitely, RUDE. Not deserve a 4,2 stars

The restaurant is recommended. Food is home cooking, but it is well prepared and tasty. We experienced the service in a friendly and courteous manner. We would dine here again and again.

Staff is friendly. Prices are in the upper range. Food was not bad, but maybe not always homemade. It tasted anyway. Just right when you have descended from Pfaffenstein.

Can you sit very comfortably before or after the hike. You do not necessarily have to eat something, you can just refresh yourself there with a drink.

Terrible not worth visiting. No service at all. And a stupid vaiter that didn't wanted to work at all. Last time for me going there. No stars

Great location, nice terrace. Well-kept food and drinks at fair prices. Waitress was a bit upset today, but in the end again very friendly.
